Huizhou600

A challenge not a race!. Do anytime in 2024! Just finish the course within 72 hours. This is a unpaid, unsupported challenge for the super tough! It covers the east part of the Huizhou ancient area, it is not flat and is stunning.

So can you ride 200km a day for 3 days? Sounds easy enough 🙂

Do this not for your social media but to challenge yourself physically and mentally. Something you will never personally forget!

Regulations

Please read carefully as we will disqualify you from the challenge if you brake them. Yes you can cheat but this is not the point. The point is to challenge others, get some experience at endurance races, see how far you can push yourself.

  • Finish with 72h. To receive our finishers badge finish the challenge within 72h.
  • Self-supported. You must carry all your gear and what you will be using on and off the bike. You can carry whatever you like. The concept of the challenge is that you experience what its like to bike tour or do a self-support race! Please carry your own gear even if you have a car or van following or meeting you. Its not acceptable to have a car carrying your gear, you drafting it, handing out cold drinks or your evening dressing gown.
  • Must follow the course. You must follow the directions and exact course. Its ok if you go wrong but you must go back to the place on the course where you went wrong and go on from there. If there is an obstacle you cannot get around, such as a closed gate or landslide, then we will take this into account with photo evidence but you will not be eligible for the winner’s title but only the completion badge.
  • Any Bike but not E. Sorry no ebikes for this, or motorbikes or cars 🙂 Extra special bonus for fixed gear (impossible) or a Brompton (seriously stupid) 🙂
  • Rides on Strava. All GPS files must be uploaded to Strava with the #huizhou600
  • Must start & finish at Wildhomestay Cafe. Please photograph this and sign out and in with a member of our staff.
  • Sleep as much as you like. We suggest more the better unless you are planning to win it!
  • Follow the road regulations. You are on open roads so follow the regulations.

Awards

  • Every participant will receive a badge on completion after we check your Strava. The badge must be collected from the Cafe.
  • The top female and male rider will be given a special jersey wtih their name and time on it. This will be calculated at the last day of the year for that entire year.
  • Your name and time will go on the board. You will receive no photographs or glamour for finishing this challenge.

Warnings

  • This is dangerous. Be very clear of the risks. Make sure you have the suitable fitness levels and experience.
  • This course takes place on open roads with minimal traffic. Please assume some of the traffic will be on the wrong side of the road, that there are mountain drops with zero barriers and you will be on all kinds of surfaces.
  • You should do your own research before the challenge as to the current conditions.
  • We are not responsible for your well-being. We have not organised any insurance or support for you. Please dont contact us with your problems, but we are always happy to provide some advice.
